In many ways, today is a great time to be a modeller with manufacturers falling over themselves to release more & more kits. We at Scale War Machines hankered after a new US halftrack kit for ages.

Dragon answered the call in 2006 with their M2A1 halftrack (Ref: 6329). It’s a “Smart Kit” which means it is designed for a quicker & simpler build.

This kit encapsulates the golden age of modelling in which we live. The model isn’t cheap but there’s practically everything we could possibly need, right there in the box. From etched brass to optional parts. And as this is a “2-in-1” kit, there’s options too.

So, as we are all about video, we thought it would be fun to visually compare what you get in the box with a real M2A1. This video combines an in-box review of Dragon’s 1:35th scale M2A1 with a beautifully-restored White halftrack of the same type, dating from 1941.

We’ll be featuring this kit in a Premium downloadable film soon – complete with full build coverage, extra archive film & references. To whet your appetite, here’s a quick introduction to the model & the vehicle itself.

In the meantime manufacturers – keep ‘em coming!
